Ciao, Bonjour, Hola!

Meet Nicole Bono.

Travel Advisor, Wedding Planner, Creative Director, Logistical Mastermind, International Entrepreneur, Consultant.

Imagine having the inside scoop on the best vendors, local gastronomy, and secret spots - A multi-lingual wingwoman who just gets stuff done…

That’s what I bring to the table. Raised between the hustle of New York City and the charm of Firenze, I embody 100% Italian passion and 100% American ambition. With dual citizenship in my pocket, I've become addicted to travel; I’ve been to over 30 countries and almost every continent.

I LOVE to uncover hidden gems and local secrets, ensuring you experience a destination like a true traveler, not a tourist.

I’m also convinced that my absolute love of musical theatre, amazing food and travel has brought me to the love of planning destination weddings, it combines so many of my favourite things. I love love. I love romance. I am a hopeless romantic and I cry at everything - I will be the one with all the tissues on your big day!

From the moment you depart, I’m right there in your pocket, making sure you have the best possible experience.

Let’s dive into the magical world of travel & DESTINATION events together.

FEATURED IN

Dear You,

As I sit down to pen this letter to you, my heart flutters with excitement, much like the feeling I get when I’m about to board a flight, or take a bite out of my favorite dish of all time - spaghetti al pomodoro. If somehow you’ve landed here, there’s a good chance that you might be a kindred spirit, a fellow dreamer, wanderluster, and a seeker of beauty and adventure in this vast world.

Who am I? I’m a hopeless romantic, an older sister who is always a phone call away, that friend who will always say yes to hopping on a plane for an adventure, the bridesmaid at the wedding who tells you when you have lipstick on your teeth. I’m stubborn and stern, love a good negotiation, I am brutally honest and believe in not wasting anyone’s time with BS. My guilty pleasure is watching psychological thrillers and belting out showtunes.

I’ve lived in the US, UK, Spain, France, and Italy. I’m a truly 100% Italian and 100% a New Yorker at heart, highly detail oriented with corporate training, but can’t help but love the Dolce Vita. I love hosting dinner parties, cooking with my husband, bringing my dog Fiona on hikes, spending time with my family, laughing till it hurts with my girlfriends, and planning my own personal calendar with trips.

For those couples out there who envision a wedding that transcends the ordinary but don’t know where to start, I offer you not only my expertise but my passion, my creativity, and my unwavering commitment to making your special day a reflection of your unique love story that will leave your guests breathless and your heart full.

To the intrepid traveler who craves the thrill of exploring new horizons, discovering hidden gems, and indulging in luxury beyond compare - I promise you a journey where every detail is meticulously curated, every experience is tailored to your desires, and every moment is a celebration of the extraordinary life you lead.

I invite you to connect with me, to share your dreams, your hopes, your fairytale awaits, and I am here to make it come true.

With love, passion, and boundless enthusiasm & pasta,

XOX,

Nicole

Timeline

1991

Born in New York City to two immigrant Italian parents.

Growing up, I spent my childhood in the hustle and bustle of New York City, and my summers in Italy with my grandmother, where she hosted the most beautiful parties on our vineyard in Tuscany. We’d often have guests over from other countries and it was remarkable to see how special the experience was for them.

Through a child’s eyes, I saw how our international guests instantly felt like they could be a part of a different culture too. And the joy that emanated from them. I knew I had to share this exact feeling with other people.

2013

Graduated from Berklee College of Music

With a Bachelors in Music and a Masters in International Music Business.

2014

In companies like Universal Music (London) , Abkco Music & Records (New York City) and Musicxmatch (Boston)

2017

Switched gears in my career and work for New York University’s campus in Florence in student life & events and then for a couple of fabulous luxury wedding planners in Rome, Italy and FELL IN LOVE with this industry!

2019

Bono Events International was BORN

Bono Events International was BORN in New York City! I met my now dear friend and first client, Jordan. Jordan was in town fashion week and we met through our mutual friend. Within a couple weeks, and a few conversations, she hired me as her wedding planner. Jordan had a vision for her dream Florentine wedding, and together, and all our fabulous vendors, we made the magic happen and even got featured in Bridal Guide - not bad for my first wedding, right?!

All it takes is that one person who believes in you enough to give you the opportunity.

Women supporting women is what it’s all about.

It was during the stillness of the pandemic that I decided to take my business to the next level and become a travel design firm as well as an events company. I decided to train to become a travel advisor joining the incredible TRAVELLUSTRE and becoming a part of the Virtuoso network. This move not only kept my passion alive but also allowed me to diversify and refine my skills.

What advice would I give to someone starting out in this industry?

OK, If I could travel back and share a few words of wisdom with the eager, slightly apprehensive, younger version of myself, here’s what I’d say:

Embrace Every Challenge

You’ll face hurdles, doubts, and moments where you question your decisions. Embrace them. They’re the stepping stones to growth. Each challenge will refine your skills and shape your resilience.

Trust Your Instincts

That gut feeling you have about a venue, a menu, or a unique idea—trust it. Your intuition is one of your greatest assets. It’s what sets your events apart. You’re not just a ‘wedding planner’, you’re a mover and a shaker and your best next steps happen when you listed to those insticts.

Savor the Journey

For me, 2019 was just the beginning. There will be more cities, more weddings, and countless moments filled with joy, laughter, and love. Don’t forget to savor them. They’re the heart of why you do what you do.

Nurture Relationships

Clients, vendors, chefs—they’re not just contacts. They’re the soul of your business. Invest time in nurturing these relationships. They’ll become your biggest supporters and your most trusted collaborators. They will help you expand your business.

Never Stop Learning

Stay curious, keep exploring, and never stop learning. The more you know, the more you can offer. Be humble, ask questions, ask for help - one thing you should always remember, is that you can never do anything on your own.

If you are starting out in your travel or wedding planning business and would like some help or advice, why not book a call where you can pick my brains for an hour?
